Rentals Manager

Farmington seeks a dynamic and customer‑focused Rentals Manager to enhance the visitor experience, strengthen client engagement, and support the organization’s mission. This part‑time role is responsible for managing event rentals, cultivating client relationships, and coordinating rental and special event volunteers.

A large percentage of our rentals are weddings, and we are looking for someone devoted to working 1:1 with clients to help them realize their vision for their special day.

Working within a small non-profit environment necessitates collaboration across the board and this person may be asked to contribute on social media management, fundraising events, and other projects as needed.

Hours for this position will vary based on event management needs.  General work hours are Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 am – 3:30 pm but this schedule may be altered when special events or rentals require night or weekend attendance. This position is part-time (up to 30 hrs/week) with an hourly rate of $24/hr and additional incentive pay based on rental bookings. ($100-250 per event rental)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS:

  • This is a sales-oriented position requiring an enterprising attitude.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective and contracted clients, promoting Farmington’s event spaces and guiding clients through the full rental process.

  • Coordinate all logistical and operational aspects of events, ensuring seamless communication with staff, vendors, and volunteers and full compliance with contract terms.

  • Foster a welcoming, professional environment for guests and support a positive, mission‑aligned visitor experience.

  • Manage event volunteer coordination, ensuring adequate staffing and alignment with event needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate will bring strong interpersonal skills and an enthusiasm for engaging with diverse audiences. An outgoing, service‑oriented approach and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential.  Sales and/or event management experience is preferred.

The successful candidate will need to be conscious of a wide-range of budgets and have the ability to balance customer requests with limited staffing and the preservation of a historic site.  There is growth potential for the right candidate to expand our non-wedding rental business through ambitious outreach.

Work requires sitting for long periods of time and working at a computer screen, as well as walking throughout the campus on a regular basis. Reasonable accommodation may be provided for those who are able to perform the essential duties of the job.  The incumbent must be able to maintain complete confidentiality of any information they encounter.
