SUMMARY:The Quattro Voce String Quartet: Women Composers Through the Ages
DESCRIPTION:This is a free\, public concert. Pre-registration is recommended but not required.\nQuattro Voce are professional\, free-lance musicians who love to find and play music that champions new or obscure voices from the past and present.They will perform an approximately 45-minute concert of music all by women composers. This “Women Composers Through the Ages” is in honor of March Women’s History Month. The program begins with a piece from renaissance period and continues in chronological order with several selections\, ending with a present-day composition.Each selection will be introduced with a few words to give some context to what the audience is about to hear (the time period\, her more well-known contemporaries\, etc.)\nConcert by the Quattro Voce String Quartet to be held in the Carriage House. The room is only accessible by stairs.Program funded by a grant from the Musicians’ Performance Trust Fund.

DESCRIPTION:Farmington is happy to host the  Lafayette Bicentennial-Louisville American Friends of Lafayette for this installment of their Lafayette Bicentennial Speaker Series.  This event will be held in the Carriage House- the cream building to the left of the museum.  \n\nHope Is a Duty – The Revolutionary Life of Adrienne Lafayette\nBy Kathryn Goodwin Tone\n\n\nRarely has so young a couple borne such a heavy weight of responsibility.\n-Andre Maurois\n\n\nThis presentation by the author will focus on the life of Adrienne Lafayette from her marriage in 1774 to her death in 1807. In three segments – American Revolution\, French Revolution and Olmutz/Chateau La Grange – the author will show how Adrienne challenged conventional mores and roles for women. Adrienne’s involvement in her husband’s political life was crucial to the pivotal revolutions of the 18th century. On a personal level\, her courage\, strength and ingenuity saved Lafayette’s life\, their son’s life\, and their family’s future in France.\n\n\n\n\nThe talk is free and open to the public.  Lunches are available for pre-purchase\, Lunches are $16.00.\n\n  Tours of Farmington will be available that day at the standard times\, you can book tickets for a tour under booking\, or at the Visitor Center.  All Farmington tours leave from the Visitor Center.

All visits begin in the Visitor Center.  We will stamp your Passport and give you your tour packet- including the self-guided tours of the Main House\, and the grounds. Docents will be stationed throughout the museum to answer questions. Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy on the grounds.    Last entry to the Main house is at 1:00. \nToday’s special guests/activities: more information coming soon.  Youth Passholders may complete and turn in a scavenger hunt for entry into a prize drawing. PRIZE drawing today!  \nNon-Cultural Pass participants are welcome to visit and tour on Cultural Pass days also-Admission Tickets may be purchased in the Visitor Center.  Be aware we do not offer our traditional Guided Tours on Cultural Pass days. \nCultural Pass offers young people ages 0-21 and their families in the Greater Louisville area access to participate in arts and cultural activities provided by over 50 venues\, free of charge.  Must have your physical Cultural Pass passport with you.  Eligible youth may register and pick their Passports up at their county library.  Group Cultural Pass experiences may be arranged through Fund for the Arts.
